In Godzilla vs. Kong, King Kong is transported out of his containment zone after Godzilla resurfaces and creates mayhem, and humans need his help to reach Hollow Earth and find a way to subdue the king of the monsters.

For the epic blockbuster, a team of 80 Luma artists delivered 170 visual effects shots across the film, including environments, set extensions, screen replacements, motion graphics, and digital damage.

Luma created a range of exteriors, digital crowds, set extensions, cars and damage effects in the scene where Godzilla attacks the APEX Cybernetics base in Florida. The team was also tasked with augmenting footage of a partial set for the base camp that is set up after the attack. The footage included six tents, and Luma expanded the camp to half a mile in every direction and added hundreds of digital people. Artists utilized a crowd management system which enabled them o assign a range of predetermined behaviors to each individual. Luma performed motion capture to create a library of actions, which formed the basis for the behaviour of the crowd.
