CG Supervisor

Melbourne
The CG Supervisor is responsible for delivering any computer generated asset both creatively and technically within the VFX production. Working closely with the VFX Supervisor, Producer and Production Managers the CG Supervisor will collaborate with all CG related departments to define the pipeline and flow for the project. 

You Can

  • Work closely with the VFX Supervisor, Producers, Production Managers, coordinators, artists and other necessary departments in creating high quality visual effects
  • Provide clear direction to all CG departments, including but not limited to: assets dev, rigging, animation, lighting, and FX, setting clear objectives and monitoring the process, progress and results
  • Supervise the artist in achieving all technical aspects of production including but not limited to: assets dev, rigging, animation, lighting and FX
  • Keep up on current technology trends and tools (hardware and software) that best suits the production in the development of a stronger creative technical environment
  • Train team members and review their overall performance and work, ensuring the highest standards are met at all times
  • Work closely with Producers and Production Managers to provide a task breakdown and estimates per project
  • Ensure that all teams are working efficiently and productively and are on target to meet all milestones and deadlines
  • Assess and determine new talent with the help of the production and staffing team along with assisting in the actual interview process
  • You Have

  • A minimum of 3 years in the VFX industry in a CG Supervisory role
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field
  • A thorough understanding of the visual effects process and the ability to interpret the artistic brief from the VFX Supervisor
  • A proven ability to ensure artists work is of the highest standard on both technical and creative levels

    Lighting Artist (Lead Level)

    Melbourne
    Luma Pictures Melbourne is looking for a Lead Lighting Artist. The Lead Lighting Artist will be responsible for overseeing the lighting process to ensure that all visual elements are illuminated in a realistic or stylized way, depending on the project. Their role includes setting up and adjusting lighting within 3D environments to match the look and feel of the live-action footage or the creative direction of the project. They will be required to work closely with the Compositing, Asset and FX departments. Additionally, the Lead Lighting Artist will manage and guide a team of lighting artists, review their work prior to it going to the CG & VFX Supervisors and helps resolve technical issues. They are expected to have strong knowledge of lighting techniques, color theory, rendering software (especially Maya & Katana), and a good understanding of how light interacts with different materials and textures. They will also ensure that the lighting aligns with the creative vision while also meeting technical requirements and production deadlines.
