Once cast, a spell can never be changed.

Luma Pictures was thrilled to collaborate with Marvel Studios on their new steaming miniseries on Disney+, WandaVision, across 14 sequences in The Series Finale. In the episode, Wanda battles Agatha in an epic fight scene and Vision fights his S.W.O.R.D. counterpart as Hayward launches an attack on Westview. The Luma team was given the special task of bringing The Darkhold—Agatha's magical book of spells—to life. In the comics, the Darkhold is an ancient object that contains a plethora of dark spells, dark magic, and sorceries and is directly linked to Wanda's history. As this was going to be the first time the book was revealed in the MCU, Luma paid close attention to detail to ensure it added to the visual language of the story and help up to the importance of the artefact. Luma was given free reign to design the book, including the front and back covers and the contents of its pages.

Andrew Zink, VFX Supervisor

We knew it was going to be an important object and that we had to do it justice, especially as it was giong to be the first reveal in the MCU.

Luma also developed bespoke magical effects for Monica, Billy, and Wanda in the Series Finale.
